🧹 Deep Cleaning of Shared Apartments – Important Information for Residents
STUWO carries out inspections of thoroughly cleaned shared apartments every June.
If there is a change of tenant within the flatshare (WG), a full deep cleaning must be completed by the current tenants before moving out.
✅ What needs to be done?
Below is a list of all areas that must be cleaned thoroughly, along with the recommended cleaning agents and tools.
🧽 Cleaning supplies:
- Rubber gloves
- Cillit Bang power cleaner (use only with gloves)
- Toilet tabs (leave overnight in the toilet – also useful for soaking burnt residues in the oven)
- Window cleaner
- Limescale remover for toilets and faucets
- Vinegar (as a natural solution against limescale)
- Ceramic glass scraper and cleaner
- Parquet floor cleaner
- Paper towels, sponges, microfiber cloths
- Mop
- Vacuum cleaner
🏠 Areas that must be fully cleaned:
- 🗑️ Dispose of all trash, bottles, and cans
- 🔥 Clean the inside of the oven – no brown grease stains
(Toilet tabs can help loosen burnt-in spots) - 🍳 Clean stovetops so they are free of grease

- 🍴 Clean cutlery drawers in the kitchen
- 🧂 Wipe down kitchen shelves
- 🚿 Thoroughly clean and descale bathroom and toilet
- 🛋️ Clean the living room – including under the sofa
- 💨 Clean bathroom air filters (if possible)
- 🚰 Remove, descale, and clean faucet aerators

Once the photos clearly show that all cleaning tasks have been completed, STUWO will schedule an on-site inspection.
