Apply for a Stuwo Flat
This is a guide on how to apply for a shared-flat furnished student room
1. Registration
Please register at https://stuwo.ch/registration and briefly introduce yourself with the following information:
- Degree program
- Hobbies and interests
- Languages
- Shared-flat (WG) experience
2. Video Introduction for Housemates and Stuwo
Send a 1–2 minute introduction video to Stuwo WhatsApp or via Email link including:
- Name, age, degree program
- Hobbies/interests
- Languages
- Shared-flat experience
- What your future housemates can expect from you
- What you expect from your housemates
- How you envision cleanliness and cooperation in the shared flat
3. Viewing the Shared Flat
Interested applicants can visit the shared flat and get an impression of the living environment. Stuwo sends you the contacts after we received your video Intro.
4. Submission of Documents
After registering and submitting the video, the following documents are required:
- Signed rental application form
- Certificate of enrollment
- Copy of passport
- Proof of liability insurance
5. Final Zoom Meeting
At the end of the process, a Zoom call with Stuwo takes place to clarify mutual questions regarding social and financial matters. If the conversation goes well, Stuwo will then sign the rental application form as well.
Important Note:
The application process is only complete once Stuwo has finally signed the rental application form. Only then is the contract binding – until that point, applications can still be accepted.
Duration of the Process:
It is important that both the flatmates and Stuwo agree. The steps – from registration through viewing to contract signing – can be completed within 2 to 4 days, depending on the applicants’ response time. Often, it takes longer, as there is some time between each step. The video introduction helps speed up the process, for example if a flatmate is on vacation and cannot attend the viewing. It also makes the decision-making process much easier for Stuwo.
